Takako Moore’s dance journey began at the age of three in Tokyo, when her mother enrolled her in a neighborhood dance school after she begged to take lessons following a musical performance. Even after the family moved, her mother faithfully commuted more than an hour so Takako could continue training with the same school. By her teenage years, she was taking multiple classes after school and on weekends, determined to grow as a dancer.

At just 14, Takako was selected to perform with Ballet Caravan, an affiliate company of her school. After graduating from high school, she joined the school as a staff member, teaching Jazz, Modern, Ballet, and Jazz-Funk (Hip-Hop) to students ranging from preschoolers to senior adults. For more than a decade, she performed across Tokyo while training and inspiring dancers of all ages. During this time, she also traveled to New York City for professional training, expanding her artistry and global perspective.

Her excellence was recognized nationally when she won multiple awards at the Japan Jazz Dance Competition (1991–1993), earning second and third place in solo categories and several grand prizes with ensembles. After relocating to Hawaii, she continued performing and studying with Honolulu Dance Studio.

A turning point came when Takako moved to suburban Chicago, where she encountered Jesus Christ and dedicated her gift of dance to the Lord. She served for three years in the Dance Ministry at Christian Faith Fellowship in Zion, IL—marking the beginning of her calling to use dance as worship.

In Virginia, Takako joined Calvary Revival Church (CRC) in Norfolk. Under the leadership of Bishop Courtney and Pastor Janeen McBath, she grew as a minister of dance. In 2015, she was called into leadership and serves as Director of the Revival Worship Dance team currently under Pastors David and Lydia Osborne. She also continues to refine her craft under the mentorship of Mr. Elbert Watson and performs as a member of his company.

Takako’s heart is to glorify God through the art of dance and to inspire others to encounter His presence through movement. Beyond leading the Revival Worship Dance team, she is Executive Director of DOVE Studios, where she expands her mission to the community. She also serves as a Deaconess at CRC, ministering to the congregation at large, and is a Board Member of Silver Care Dementia Center in Norfolk, VA.

She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Norfolk State University and a Master’s in Ministry with a concentration in Care and Counseling from Virginia Christian College. Today, Takako continues to blend her lifelong passion for dance with her commitment to serving God, the church, and the community.

  • Artistic Director, DOVE Studios

Micah DeLoatch, Artistic Director of DOVE, began her dance journey at the age of 9 with classical ballet training at Virginia Beach Ballet Academy. Her love for movement followed her to the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA, where she unofficially minored in dance and spent four years dancing, choreographing, and performing with Orchesis Modern Dance Company. In 2007, Micah became the Director of Dance Ministry at Calvary Revival Church in Norfolk, VA. Within a few years, she added “Seeds of Grace,” a children’s dance group, to the CRC dance ministry.

In 2012, Micah founded “In One Accord” Dance Company, a community-based, faith-driven dance group that brought together local choreographers and dancers to explore modern, hip hop, and contemporary movement styles. Her post-collegiate training includes ballet/modern with Mr. Elbert Watson at Norfolk Academy, Rhythm Pulse with Janelle Jones, Studio 360 ballet with Tiffanee Anthony, and contemporary classes at Todd Rosenlieb Dance with Janelle Spruill.

Micah has contributed to numerous local performances and multimedia projects with organizations such as Dance in the 757, Elbert Watson Dance Company, and Calvary Revival Church. Outside of dance, she serves full-time as an elementary school administrator and finds joy in life with her husband, Lloyd, and their fur baby, Swizzy.
